Welcome to Bringing it Home with KHC, a podcast exploring the housing industry, trends, and issues facing affordable housing in Kentucky.
As the state housing finance agency, Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) has a unique perspective. We have a hand in most aspects of the housing market and access to industry experts. Our network of partners changes lives every day, providing people a stable foundation and connecting them to resources and opportunities that help them build a better future for themselves and their families.
We want to share our partners’ hard work with the world. We also want to use this forum to educate and inform. Housing is a fundamental right and any changes to the housing industry impact all of us.
Several years ago, KHC had another podcast and blog – Strategic Housing – that looked at housing trends nationally. It addressed issues that all states face and interviewed the innovative and accomplished people who were creating solutions to everyday problems.
We still have all of those stories and episodes. To search our archive, click here.
But, we wanted to bring it home and tackle Kentucky-centric issues, starting with The State of Affordable Housing. In our first episode, we speak with Brent Childers, director of neighborhood and community services in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Patrick Bowen, founder and president of Bowen National Research, to see where we are, what has changed in the affordable housing arena, and where we are going as a state.
We hope you enjoy our first episode. After listening, we hope you visit our blog. It highlights stories from around the state, projects we funded, housing initiatives, and people we have helped. It is a one-stop-shop for all things KHC.
